What Is Cancer Navigator?

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors initiated the Cancer Navigator program with tobacco-settlement funds to serve as a central resource for linking to local cancer information and services.

Cancer Navigator includes two major components: a Web site and a call center. The Web site serves as a central repository of links to cancer information and services in San Diego County and includes links to national Web sites. The HelpLine provides personalized support, available in English and Spanish, for those who do not have Internet access or those who would rather speak with a staff member.

Our Mission

Cancer Navigator benefits the San Diego community by providing resources to people with cancer, families and caregivers, providers, the underserved, candidates for clinical trials, and the public. The Web site and HelpLine provide a central, easily accessible source for finding information on cancer care, support services, prevention, local clinical trials, smoking cessation, and education.

Our aim is to improve communication and functionality between those who are searching for resources and the people and institutions that provide these resources. To that end, Cancer Navigator strives to exist as nothing short of a catalyst for collaboration and cooperation in San Diego County as well as the primary source for links to local cancer information and services.
